Research: ITME's research team has so far focused its
attention on coral reefs, seagrass beds and rocky substrates.
Within these environments, species distribution and abundance,
community structure, biological zonation patterns, bleaching
episodes, disease manifestations, and storm impacts are some
of the areas that have been investigated (see Reports).
For further information or requests please compete and submit
this form.
Education: ITME's Academic Programs offer an intensive
exposure to marine biology, in particular to field research techniques
(see Dominica Project, Academic Programs),
but can be custom designed to meet the specific requirements of
interested parties. Programs are largely issue-driven and based
on the research findings generated by the Institute's ongoing
projects. As part of their research training, students participate
in these studies and are involved in the dissemination of their
findings in the form of community outreach initiatives, and the
creation of publicly accessible data bases. With the completion
of its latest academic program series (2001-2008), ITME is currently
not offering courses.
